Creating and customizing a comprehensive timeline in Aisle Planner is easy.  Here's everything you need to know about editing your timeline in a project:

Adding an Item to the Timeline

To add an item, hover over the item or date just above the place you'd like to add a new item, and click on the gold + sign that appears.

If you have access to timeline templates, you can also import individual line items from a template into your timeline. To access your templates, click on the gold TEMPLATES button towards the top left of your screen, select the template you want to bring in an item from, then drag and drop the item in place.

*Please note: Some of the screens shown in this video have been updated and may look a little different, but we think you'll still find the information in this tutorial super helpful!

Editing a Timeline Item

To edit a timeline item, just click on the text of any timeline item and edit as needed.

Adding Details or Notes on a Timeline Item

To add additional details or notes beneath each timeline item, hover over the timeline item you'd like to add details for, then click on the gold +Add Notes option that appears just beneath that timeline item.

Deleting an Item from the Timeline

To delete an item, hover over the item you'd like to delete and click on the gold trash can icon that appears to the left of that timeline item.

Formatting Timeline Items

To bold, color code or highlight a timeline item, click on the GRAY DOT to the left of that timeline item. You’ll see additional formatting options in the menu that appears. You also have the option to clear formatting and return a timeline to its default state.

To bold, color code or highlight an item in the notes field beneath a timeline item, once you click into the notes area, you’ll see a different styling menu towards the top of your timeline.

Reordering Timeline Items

There are two ways that you can reorder a timeline item. When you update the time on a timeline item, we'll automatically reorder that timeline item in chronological order. You can also drag and drop any timeline item to adjust the time (or for those items still TBD, adjust the order)

Tagging Responsible Parties

To tag who is responsible for a timeline item, hover over the timeline item you'd like to tag a responsible party for, then click on the gold +Add Responsible Party option that appears just beneath that timeline item. Type in the responsible party's name.  You can also select from the menu of auto-suggested vendors who are a part of this wedding as well as any planning partners or guests.

When downloading the timeline, you can choose to include or hide the responsible party tags.

If you wish to include additional information, such as vendor company name, point of contact and contact information, you can also choose to include vendor information in the timeline item itself, or in the notes section beneath each timeline.

Adding a New Day to a Timeline

To add a new day time your timeline, click on the gold ADD DAY button towards the top left of your timeline, then select the date you'd like to add from the calendar picker.

Removing a Date from a Timeline

Once you've removed all timeline items beneath a date on the timeline, we'll automatically remove the date for you. To remove timeline items, you can either drag and drop them to another date on your timeline, or delete each timeline item individually.

Changing the Date on a Timeline

To change a date on a timeline, hover over the date you want to change, and then click on the “+CHANGE DATE” that appears to the right of the date. Choose the new date on the modal. If you change to a date that already exists on the timeline, you will be prompted to confirm, as all the line items will merge under that date when you confirm.

Adding a Note or Text Above the First Date on a Timeline

To add an introduction, note or other important information to the top of your timeline, you'll need to first create a timeline item anywhere beneath the first date.  Then, click on the gray dot to the left of that item, change the timeline item to “NO TIME, JUST TEXT.” You’ll then be able to drag and drop the item into place above the first date at the top of your timeline.

Downloading the Timeline

To download any version of the timeline, select the version you’d like to download (whether it’s your primary timeline or a filtered version) then click on the gold share button off towards the top right. From there, select additional options to download.

Clearing a Timeline

If you want to clear your entire timeline to start from scratch, click on the gold action/arrow button toward the the top right of your screen and select the CLEAR TIMELINE option. Then follow the prompts to confirm this action.

Please note, once you've confirmed that you want to clear the timeline, you won't be able to bring it back, so please proceed with caution.

Deleting a Timeline

If you have more than one timeline in a project, you'll see the option to delete an entire timeline.

To delete an entire timeline, click on the gray trash can icon towards the right of the timeline title at the top of your screen and then follow the prompts to confirm deletion.

Please note, once you've confirmed that you want to delete your timeline, you won't be able to bring it back, so please proceed with caution.
