Our goal is to document as much of your conversations/client approvals/change requests within Aisle Planner for easy reference. That said, comments are a great way to do this, and comment notifications help to keep you in the loop.

Any time you add a comment, whether it’s on an image, task or vendor contact record, everyone who is a part of that project will receive a new notification in their Notification Center (provided they haven’t turned off their in-app notifications), located to the top right of each account. They will also receive an emailed notification, provided they haven’t turn off their email notifications.

For an overview of all the areas where comments can be made and how to make the most of comments, read on below!

Where You Can Add Comments in Aisle Planner

You can make comments in all the following areas in Aisle Planner:

  • Activity Logs in Lead & Client Records

  • Project and Lead Management Checklists

  • Checklist Related Items in Primary & Project Calendars

  • Checklist Tasks within the Notification Center

  • Style Guide Images in the Design Studio

  • Contact Records within a Project

Comments On Checklist Items

You, your clients and any planning partners can use comments on checklist items to start a conversation about a checklist item or task, follow up and see how things are going on a certain item, or provide more information to keep planning moving forward.

When you comment on a checklist item:

  • Your clients will receive an emailed notification that includes the checklist item, your comment, and any previous comments related to this checklist item, along with a link to take them to their account to keep planning moving forward. They can respond, right from their email, and their response will be added to the comment stream for easy reference.

  • Your clients will also receive an in-app notification in their notification center. They can click on that notification to be taken to the task that the comment was made on to continue the conversation.

Comments On Images

You and your clients can use comments on images in the Design Studio to introduce an image, continue a conversation about an image or document specific information about a photo.

When you comment on an image:

  • Your clients and planning partners will receive an emailed notification that includes the image, your comment and any previous comments related to this image. They can respond, right from their email, and their response will be added to the comment stream for easy reference.

  • Your clients and planning partners will also receive an in-app notification in their notification center. They can click on that notification to be taken to the image that the comment to view the image and continue the conversation.

Comments On Contact Records in A Project

You can add a comment to a contact record, which is great way to kick off a conversation about a creative partner or let your clients know that you’ve uploaded a price list, proposal, or contract.

When you comment on a contact record:

  • Your clients and planning partners will receive an emailed notification that includes your comment along with a link to take them to their account to keep planning moving forward. They can also respond, right from their email, and their response will be added to the comment stream for easy reference.

  • Your clients and planning partners will also receive an in-app notification in their notification center. They can click on that notification to be taken to the contact record that the comment was made on to view the details and continue the conversation.

Additional Tips For Using Comments

  • Because everyone who is a part of the project will receive the in-app notification and email notification, we recommend that you’re mindful of your comment and properly frame-up your comment to provide the context for your comment and keep the ball moving forward. Include the name of the person you’d like to draw attention to, or need something from, and include a very specific call-to-action, such as “let me know if this is approved” or “let me know if there are any changes or if this is good to go”—so you can make the most of our comment notifications.

  • If you need to edit or delete a comment, just hover over any comment and click the More Options menu that appears off to the right of the comment. There you will be able to edit your existing comment or delete it altogether.
