Is there a specialty rental company or your own inventory of items you use over and over for your events? By creating your own Object Templates that you can bring into any layout, you won't need to recreate most used objects each and every time you design a new layout.
Creating an object template from scratch
To create an object template from scratch, head on over to your Business Settings menu, which you'll find towards the top right of your screen.
Click on the Templates tab towards the top of your screen and select the Layouts option, which you'll see to the left.
Scroll down to the Object Templates section and click on the gold Add Category Button and name your category. You can name it by rental company, object type, or any other category that makes sense to you and your process.
Click on the gold plus sign to add object to categories
Customizing Your New Object Template
Once you've created your Object Template, the first thing you'll want to do is give your new object template a name for future reference.
Naming your object templates is important, so you won't have any challenges finding the right template that you need down the road.
You'll also want to add a short and concise description and perhaps some key search terms so you are able to find the type of layout based on a variety of different criteria.
Using the Insert menu towards the top left of your screen, create your object.
You can draw or create your new object from scratch, but you can also insert an image to upload an image.
When you're done editing your object template, click Done to return to the Layout Templates index page.
You'll see your newly added object under the object category. A small thumbnail appears to the left of the object name as a visual aid.
Adding an Object Template to your Project's Layout
When you are in your project's Layout & Seating tool, you will see your object library appear above the default Aisle Planner library.
You can scroll through the library to find your objects, but using the Search Library toolbar is an easy way to find an object quickly.
Once you find your object you'd like to place, just drag and drop on to your canvas.
Creating an object template from an object created in a project's layout
While there isn't a quick shortcut button to click to add an object to your object library automatically, the good news is you can easily copy and paste any object to a new object template.
If you have an object that you'd like to save, simply select your object, then copy and paste it using keyboard shortcuts into a new object template.
